Curled between a Rock and Wet Place
Last night I had dinner at Thom’s Steak House at 1901 West on North Avenue in Melrose Park. Write down this number in your black book… 708.345.2766 It’s cool retro place near Chicago to take your Sugar!
Dinner was fabulous and I adore the servers who wear crisp black and white.
As appetizer, my date ordered 6 raw oysters for himself and 6 Oyster Rockefeller for me.
I pretended that my dish was too hot to get him to feed me a few of his.
Mika: ‘Oh Sugar, I can’t wait for the meaty bulbs to cool. The cap of spinach and cheese is holding in the steam.’
Sugar: ‘ ah darlin, open your pretty, little, perfect mouth… you are welcomed to have a few of mine.
Sugar scooped his silver, three spiked fork under the body of the raw oyster- gently lifting it from the shell which nested on cubes of ice
Leaning my chest forward, obediently I parted my just licked lips and welcomed the fresh breezy taste of the seashore.
Mika: Did you hear about the lady that found a lavender pearl in her clam?
Sugar: Yeah, I heard about that
Mika: well I bet her meat wasn’t as good as what just slipped off your fork.
